Luís Simões reinforces presence in the Algarve
17 May, 2018

Luís Simões has just strengthened its presence in the southern region of the country, increasing its storage capacity in Faro Market by 100%. LS now has 3,000SQM on that logistics platform which, in addition to ensuring the Capillary Distribution in Algarve region, now guarantees the local operation of two of Luís Simões’ largest customers with permanent stock, offering the entire portfolio of usual services in logistics operations.

In order to be able to respond to customers’ needs, LS reinforces its presence in the Algarve, which will allows the reduction of the response time to its Customers in this region, namely to the Sociedade Central de Cervejas e Bebidas, owner of brands like Sagres and its variants with and without alcohol, Sagres Bohemia and its variants, Luso Water, Luso Fruit, Heineken, Guinness, Strongbow, Bandida do Pomar and Desperados, among others.

For Luís Fernandes, Luís Simões Regional Logistics Director, “this increase represents a consolidation in the Route-to-Market of the Sociedade Central de Cervejas e Bebidas in the Algarve. We are proud to assume that we have created a more robust solution that allows us to face the seasonality of this regional market, allowing us to reduce the time response of our Customers and improve the service quality, something of vital importance to Luís Simões”.

LS will have an advanced stock, which will result in an annual volume of tens of thousands of units, thus ensures a closer proximity to the Algarve market and to the Sociedade Central de Cervejas e Bebidas needs. In addition, LS now with a total of 10 employees in this Center of operations, has created five more jobs, in order to respond to the activity growth in the region.

The partnership between Luís Simões and the Sociedade Central de Cervejas e Bebidas began in 2007 and involves the activities of stock logistics, picking and distribution. Already in 2017, the two companies strengthened ties by developing a Taylor Made solution for this customer from Gaia’s Logistics Operations Center to the HoReCa and Traditional Trade channel (via Novadis, a company of the SCC Group).
