Luís Simões and Reta have been awarded the INOVADORA Status by COTEC Portugal.
This recognition highlights the companies’ financial strength, their investment and innovation projects, their compliance with high standards in service delivery, and their strong management culture.
Every year, COTEC – the Portuguese innovation agency – awards this label to companies that stand out for their innovation and actively contribute to the country’s economic development. To this end, performance across different areas, such as financial and operational, is assessed based on rigorous criteria.
2025 marked the fourth consecutive year in which Luís Simões received this distinction, and the second consecutive year for Reta.
“We are very proud to be part of the COTEC universe and to be among the most relevant companies in the Portuguese economy,” said José Luís Simões, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Luís Simões. “I would like to personally thank everyone who is part of Luís Simões and Reta, whose dedication and effort are essential for us to continue growing and remaining competitive in a challenging and ever-changing market. In this way, we move forward in our commitment to supporting the development of a strong and relevant business ecosystem, both nationally and internationally.”
Together, the companies awarded the INOVADORA COTEC Status in this fifth edition contributed nearly 10% of Portugal’s GDP in 2023. In addition, they jointly invested more than €837 million in R&D projects.
