LS and Nestlé at the 22nd APLOG Logistics Congress

Rui Simões will participate on October 17th, together with Jordi Aycart from Nestlé, in the 22nd Logistics Congress promoted by APLOG (Portuguese Logistics Association), in the session “Collaboration in the Supply Chain,” under the theme “Winning through Collaboration.”

Objectives

This panel will address the importance of working in partnerships to respond more quickly and effectively to customer and environmental demands, as well as to gain long-term competitiveness through process standardization, operation consolidation, and investment in automation solutions.

The intervention will be led by Rui Simões, administrator of the Logistics and Innovance area, along with Jordi Aycart, Iberian Supply Chain Manager at Nestlé.

Who are Rui Simões and Jordi Aycart

Rui Simões, 37 years old, holds a degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Aveiro. He has an Executive MBA from AESE/IESE and worked in Management and Information Systems consulting for several years before joining the Information Systems department at Luís Simões. In 2015, he assumed the role of Administrator for the Innovance area, and since the beginning of 2019, he has also held the position of Administrator for the Logistics area.

Jordi Aycart holds a degree in Economics and is an Actuary of Insurance from the University of Barcelona. He began his professional career in 1988 as a financial mathematics professor at the University of Barcelona and joined Nestlé in 1992, working in the Organization and Information Systems department. Over the last 27 years, he has developed his career in the field of Supply Chain, holding positions as Logistics Manager in Portugal, Demand & Supply Chain Planning Manager in Vevey (Switzerland), and Iberian Supply Chain Manager for Purina since 2015.

The APLOG Congress

The 22nd APLOG Logistics Congress takes place on October 16th and 17th in Lisbon under the theme “The New Frontiers of Logistics” – both physical and geographical, related to sustainability, food quality, and applicable to sectors such as fashion, automotive, healthcare, retail, and agri-food, among others.
