Luís Simões has obtained the SQAS (Safety & Quality Assessment for Sustainability) certification in Portugal, which assesses compliance with the quality, safety and environmental protection requirements defined by the chemical industry for its logistics service providers.
SQAS, owned by CEFIC (European Chemical Industry Council), is not simply a certification system but an evaluation system that provides detailed reports of the most varied actions and indicators. These reports enable chemical companies to evaluate their logistics service providers according to their standards and requirements, in areas such as quality, safety, and health, both among their employees, as well as with citizens, the environment, and responsibility corporate social responsibility.
The chemical industry requires a special responsibility on the part of its logistic operators and distributors for the storage, handling and transport of products that, in many cases, have a highly sensitive profile. In this way, Luís Simões is consolidated as a strategic logistics partner for the chemical sector, demonstrating a commitment to the sustainable development of its actions and positioning itself as an actor that operates under responsible behavior models.
In addition to the objectivity provided by obtaining SQAS, this certification allows the chemical companies to verify the degree of compliance with the current legislation in Luís Simões.
