Luís Simões Logística Integrada Spain has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal, achieving a score of 74 out of 100.

This result represents an improvement of 10 points compared to the 64 points obtained in the previous assessment and places the company in the 85th percentile among the organizations evaluated by EcoVadis over the last 12 months.

This rating positions Luís Simões among the top 15% of companies assessed worldwide by the platform and highlights the company’s progress in an area that occupies a central role within its current 2025-2029 strategic cycle.

“Achieving this result reflects the efforts we are making to advance sustainability across different areas of the company. We have a clear roadmap, and this recognition motivates us to continue strengthening the initiatives we are implementing, both in the environmental field and in the areas of social responsibility and governance,” explains Cláudia Simões, Sustainability Manager at Luís Simões.

A Sustainability Strategy Translated into Concrete Actions

Luís Simões’ progress in the EcoVadis assessment is supported by the initiatives developed under its sustainability roadmap. In the environmental area, during 2025, the company expanded the use of high-capacity vehicles and increased HVO consumption across the Group sevenfold, representing a 2% increase in the use of this renewable fuel in Spain. HVO can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional diesel. At the end of 2025, Luís Simões also introduced its first electric truck in Portugal.

The company further increased its use of renewable energy, with photovoltaic self-consumption production growing by 3% compared to 2023. These measures are aligned with the emission reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which aim to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 50.4% and Scope 3 emissions by 9% by 2032, using 2021 as the base year.

Sustainability is also embedded in the transformation of operations. Luís Simões has incorporated technologies such as IoT, big data and artificial intelligence to optimize routes, reduce waiting times and improve the efficiency of its logistics processes. These initiatives are complemented by the development of smart warehouses equipped with digital inventory management systems that enable more efficient use of available space.

In 2025, Luís Simões introduced its new Code of Ethics and Conduct, designed to promote transparency and best practices throughout the organization. At the same time, the company reinforced its commitment to fostering a more inclusive and equitable workplace, providing everyone with opportunities for growth, leadership and contribution to business development.

Alongside these initiatives, Luís Simões continues to place people at the center of its strategy. In 2025, the company dedicated more than 15,395 hours to employee training through programs focused on cybersecurity, eco-driving, safety, compliance and service quality, as well as initiatives aimed at professional development and talent enhancement within the sector.

EcoVadis assesses companies’ sustainability performance based on 21 criteria grouped into four areas: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Its methodology compares each organization’s performance against companies evaluated by the platform during the previous 12 months, regardless of industry, size or location.
