LuÃs Simões invests 7.4 million euros in Vila Nova de Gaia

Luís Simões officially inaugurated, in Gaia, the new Logistics Operations Center and the new Technical Assistance Center. This event was attended by the Mayor of Gaia, Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues, who presided over the inauguration ceremony with the unveiling of the plate in both equipment. Also present were several members of the Administration of Luís Simões, as well as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, José Luís Simões.
Luís Simões invested a total of 7.4 million euros in the redevelopment of both operations centers, whose remodeling and expansion works intended to equip the equipment with the necessary conditions for the growth of the operations in the North region, simultaneously allowing a bet in the domain Of urban logistics. The modernization of the infrastructures also provided for a requalification in terms of energy efficiency, through the installation of solar panels and a more efficient and sustainable waste management system.

Logistics Operations Center of Luís Simões
With a surface area of ​​14,900 m2 and 1500 m2 of berth area, Gaia's Logistics Operations Center is responsible for the provision of Integrated Logistics, Inverse Logistics, Positive Cold, Urban Distribution, Container Discharge, Fashion and Devices Doctors.
In addition to the requalification and expansion, the works contemplated a greater focus on energy efficiency through the installation of solar panels and the creation of a system that tracks energy consumption with an indicator of energy consumption versus busy pallets.
RETA Technical Assistance Center
With the growth of the Reta business, it was identified the need to expand the service offer in the northern part of Portugal. The objective of enlargement was to increase the number of intervention sections and services available, improving the capacity to respond to the needs of transporters and increasing the quality of service provided.
The Reta's Technical Assistance Center works in a One Stop Shop concept that encompasses all services in one place. In the same space it is possible to find multi-brand heavy-duty maintenance and repair services, spare parts shop, rental and sale of new and used tractors and semitrailers, saving time and fuel in traveling between workshops and other service providers.
